Welcome to 1st Middleton Cheney Scout Group
The Scouting Organisation was established in the village over one hundred years ago, and is still going strong today. There is a Beaver Colony, Cub Packs and a Scout Troop that meet weekly at the Scout Hut in Midway, offering exciting outdoor adventures, new friends and fun and games for children aged 6 to 14.

Forthcoming Events
Cosford Air Museum - For those of you who returned your slips and payments, the coach will be picking up from Middleton Cheney at 9.30am on Sunday 26th February (exact location to be confirmed shortly). We have a full coach and six additional families meeting us there.
Easter Fund Raising Evening - On Friday 23rd March 2012 we will be running a fund raising evening at the Scout Hut for all our groups. We hope to raise some funds to purchase our equipment for District and Family Camps later on in the year. Details to follow.
Group Family Bike Ride - Our annual family bike ride will take place at Draycote Water on Sunday 6th May 2012. There is a flat 5 mile path which circles the reservoir which makes it a pleasant achievable ride for all our sections. We take along a picnic and have a game of rounders afterwards. Time to be confirmed but please reserve the date.
District Camp 2nd to 4th June - We have a district meeting later in the month to find out further details of the plans for the camp. We will pass these details onto you as soon as they are known.
Group Vacancies
We have been fortunate enough to expand considerably as a group over the last year or so. We are in need of a number of volunteers to help to run the sessions to ensure that we can continue to offer a wide, varied and exciting programme for all our members. Volunteering can be an incredibly rewarding experience and the amount of time commitment required varies between the roles. Any time you can give to the group really does help. The roles we need to fill are as follows -
Beaver Scout Sectional Assistants (x2)
Assistant Cub Scout Leaders (x2) - one Wednesday and one Friday
Assistant Scout Leader
Occasional Helpers (all sections)
We have prepared a couple of documents which give further details of these roles. The first provides further information about these vacancies and the second gives a detailed explanation of the duties involved with these roles. Please ask one of the Group Leaders or contact Adrian if you are interested or require further information.
